Our Mission

The mission of El Cerrito Pet Hospital is your healthy and happy pet!

Through friendly, professional services, we will provide complete, efficient veterinary care. Our caring staff will educate our clients in the health management of their pets. Total effort and dedication will further this mission.

We are here to help you realize better care for your pets that will result in long living, happy and healthy companions. We welcome you to be a part of our mission!


Dr. Syed N. Naqvi, D.V.M

Dr. Naqvi graduated with his DVM in 1986 from UAF. He completed his clinical training at Purdue University, Indiana and has been practicing Veterinary medicine in the Bay Area for the past decade.

His area of expertise is Internal Medicine and his special interest lies in the care of older cats and dogs, who have more specific health needs. He feels comfortable taking care of a wide variety of animals ranging from cats and dogs to hens, hamsters and birds.

He is currently a member of the AVMA, CVMA and CCVMA. He has volunteered for the SPCA in the past and likes to encourage the younger upcoming members of the community by offering internship opportunities through High School and College level programs.

Dr. Naqvi is an avid player of cricket and badminton and likes to spend his free time on the field or net. He lives in Hercules with his wife, four children and two cats.

Our caring staff welcomes your telephone call when you have any concern, no matter how small, about your pet.

Gwen Fresquez, Office Manager
Gwen has been with El Cerrito Pet Hospital for over 25 years. She will handle your pet with caring and expertise. She shares her home with her Rottweilers and Pugs.

Linda Orr, Veterinary Assistant
Linda has been with El Cerrito Pet Hospital for the past 15 years. In addition to her many responsibilities as Veterinary Assistant, she also runs our Rottweiler rescue program with Gwen.
